The Marvel Unites Five Beloved Movies and Series in Epic Sequel

When Captain Marvel came out in 2019, there weren’t that many superhero movies led by women. Carol Danvers was the first female lead in the MCU to have her own movie, and the movie made more than $1 billion around the world. But Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, wanted to bring other comic book women to the big screen. This made The Marvels a sequel to not only Captain Marvel but also five other MCU movies.

The future movie The Marvels is a follow-up to Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion, as well as Captain Marvel.

Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan were two of Feige’s top goals. Kamala Khan is a teenager from Jersey City who wants to be a superhero like Carol. So instead of just making a regular sequel to Larson’s first appearance in the story, the studio chose to add these characters who had already been in the MCU.

“This was something Kevin and I had talked about from the beginning, that this was the way Carol Danvers’ story made sense to go,” Brie Larson told Entertainment Weekly, referring to Kamala’s debut in 2022’s Ms. Marvel and Monica’s appearance as a child in Captain Marvel before making her present-day debut in 2020’s WandaVision.

The Marvels is a continuation of Captain Marvel, WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and the Disney+ show Secret Invasion. Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, is in the second one. He hired Danvers in her MCU start and asked for her help in Endgame to beat Thanos.

But a long time has passed since the criminal was stopped. In The Marvels, Carol Danvers, played by Scarlett Johansson, Monica Rambeau, played by Teyonah Parris, Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, and Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, all continue their own stories.

Carol Danvers was able to get her identity back from the Kree and beat the Supreme Intelligence, but now she has to deal with unintended consequences that make her carry the weight of a world that is no longer stable. Monica Rambeau hasn’t seen Carol in a long time, Nick Fury hasn’t talked to his Avenger in a long time, and Kamala is still trying to figure out how to use her skills.

In The Marvels, Carol, Monica, and Kamala get together for the first time when Carol’s duties take her to an unusual wormhole connected to a Kree rebel. Her powers get mixed up with those of Kamala Khan, a superfan from Jersey City, and Monica, a former friend of Carol’s who is now a pilot for S.A.B.E.R.

When Does The Marvels Release?

The film will come out on November 10. But because the strikes by the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists are still going on and don’t seem to be ending soon, a number of companies have decided to delay the release of some of their upcoming movies.

Insiders who know Disney’s release plan say that there have been talks about putting The Marvels on hold until after the strike. This change is meant to give players more freedom to promote the movie, which is currently limited by the union’s rules. Reports of a possible delay haven’t been confirmed yet, but the movie has already been advertised.

The Marvels Trailer Updates

We haven’t had a good body-swapping movie in a while. Even though The Marvels doesn’t exactly fit the bill (the main characters switch places, not bodies), the teaser trailer has a sitcom-like high-concept energy that reminds us of body-swapping classics like Freaky Friday.

In The Marvels, which comes out on November 10, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) finds out that her skills are linked to those of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), aka Ms. Marvel, and Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). When one of these superheroes uses their skills, they switch places with another. High jinks ensue! The movie brings together the stars of three different Marvel projects: the movie Captain Marvel and the Disney+ shows Ms. Marvel and WandaVision.

This means that you only need to watch three other MCU movies or shows to understand this one. Nia DaCosta, who directed Candyman, was in charge of The Marvels. This was the first movie in the MCU to be directed by a Black woman. Watch the trailer for the movie above.
